In my flashy life or morbidity and actuarial tables that I encounter in 52 hours of continuing education, I complete every year along the lines of Medicare and finance, sometimes I find brilliant diamonds in the rough of my fields. I love math because math can’t lie or deceive. Math is encouraging and full of hope, especially today. Science and medicine have advanced so much that we can live healthier longer lives and document our breaths and the reasons they thrive longer and better than others. We don’t have to admire an imaginary fountain of youth… we can cannonball into every one of the following life-extending activities today. People live longer when:

  • They are married. Yup… married people live on average 7% longer.
  • They have a vegetarian diet.  Men who don’t eat meat live an average of 10 years longer and women an average of 6.
  • They drink coffee… and lots of it. A study found that people who drank 4-5 cups of coffee per day over 14 years are significantly less likely to die than others.
  • They take the stairs. Climbing 35 flights or more of stairs each week increases longevity by more than 10%
  • They own annuities. Research shows that men who own annuities with contractually guaranteed lifetime income live 20% longer.

Well, that’s it for now… I’m a 5 out of 5 except on days I take the elevator because my hands are full of amazing books. Do any of these surprise you? Schedule a 20 Minute Call With Mama Bear
